Andrés Alfonso Magaña

Andrés Alfonso Magaña (Jalisco, 1989) is an artist and architect dedicated to documenting and preserving the culture, festivities, architecture and the everyday life of western Mexico, where he is from. He works across mediums, including engraving and paper modeling using the cartonería technique, to create playful and contemplative artworks. His work has been exhibited in Mexico and internationally, including Argentina, Colombia, Poland, Italy, Greece, Croatia, and Japan, with more than 110 group exhibitions and 25 solo exhibitions. Andrés teaches Architecture and Craft Design at the University of Guadalajara and has received awards such as “Creators of Peace” (2020) and “Alcance Mundo Creativo North America” ​​(2018), amongst others.
