Roberto Garrido
Robi Garrido is a multidisciplinary artist and activist based in Querétaro. His creative exploration centres on ceramics and photography, emerging from a deep dialogue with nature and a commitment to the defense of water and land. His practice draws on Indigenous wisdoms of Abya Yala and is grounded in ongoing collaboration with First Nations communities, including groups in the Sierra Gorda region of Querétaro and traditional Xi’iuy healers of San Luis Potosí. These projects focus on safeguarding and sharing native seeds, documenting ancestral knowledge, music, and traditions and environmental education. Each photograph or piece of ceramic work is a gesture of reciprocity: a bridge woven between art, living memory, and current ecological resistance.
